Raman Cheema, RCC

Bio

Raman is a South-Asian, able-bodied, cisgender, settler woman who is practicing on the unceded, traditional Coast Salish lands including the S’ólh Téméxw (Stó:lō), Semiahmoo, Kwantlen, sc̓əwaθenaɁɬ təməxʷ (Tsawwassen), sq̓əc̓iy̓aɁɬ təməxʷ (Katzie), Á,LEṈENEȻ ȽTE (W̱SÁNEĆ), Stz’uminus, Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla. She speaks Punjabi and English. Raman is a registered clinical counsellor and professional art therapist who has completed a Master of Counselling Psychology in Art Therapy at Adler University.

Raman’s previous experiences include working with families, children, and adults on stress management, medical trauma, anxiety, low mood, life transitions, sexualized violence, and domestic violence. She has lived experience with social anxiety, speech impairments, surviving cancer, relationship trauma, and navigating multicultural and multi-generational issues.

Raman’s approach to counselling embodies warmth, curiosity, and acceptance. She looks at how our previous experiences inform our life journeys. Raman is passionate about empowering individuals and supporting the re-discovery of their strengths.

In her personal time, Raman enjoys painting, knitting, baking, hiking, kickboxing, and watching docu-series and reality tv.
