Accessibility Information

 

Scents: We request that clients attend in-person sessions scent/fragrance-free. Please be mindful of strongly scented products such as deodorant and laundry detergent as well. Essential oils are used at times in the office space. Please let us know if this is a barrier for you, and will do our best to limit this.

Physical accessibility

Cambie and Hastings Location
The building where the office is located is almost fully accessible, but there is a short lip at the entrance of the building. There are three elevators in the building. Our office is located on the 9th floor and is accessible by elevator or stairs.

Mount Pleasant Location (Near Ontario and Broadway)
This office is not accessible. It is a walk-up, and we are located on the second floor (14 steps). This is a multi-room office with different counsellors working in the space. There is a door on the first floor and another door on the second floor after the stairs. There is a bell by each door. Please ring the bell upon arrival if the door is closed and your counsellor will let you in. If the door is open, please let yourself in and wait in the waiting room for your counsellor.

Art Therapy Studio (Near Main and Broadway)
This space is not accessible. The entrance to the building is the unmarked door left of Odin Books. It is a walk-up, and we are located on the third floor. There are 30 steps divided into three sections. The unit number is 21. Please ring the bell upon arrival (the top button, labeled ‘Collective Healing’), and we will come down to let you in and walk with you to the unit.

Furniture: There are various seating options including couches, wide, cushioned arm-less chairs, and plastic chairs at every location.

Washrooms: At both the Cambie and Hastings and the Art Therapy Studio locations, there are two washrooms on the floor where the offices are located. The washrooms are not gendered and are single-stall. There are no support bars on the walls of the stalls. The washrooms at the Cambie and Hastings location are not spacious enough to accommodate motorized wheelchairs. There is one single-stall washroom at the Mount Pleasant Location, there are no support bars on the walls.

Lighting: There are several lamps and natural lighting. Lighting can be adjusted to fit your needs during sessions.

Languages: Some of our counsellors can provide services in various languages, please refer to our counsellor directory to learn more. There is a language filter on the left side panel that can support you with this process.

Delivery: Counselling services are available in-person, via video call, or by phone.

COVID-19: We take precautions to limit the spread of COVID-19 by sanitizing the space between clients, having windows open and/or the air purifier on when possible, and wearing masks when desired by the therapist and client. The space between the seating options is 6 ft.

Cambie and Hastings Location
Located in the Dominion Building at the Cambie and Hastings intersection. Buzzer and unit number will be emailed to you prior to the first session.


Public Transit: The following buses pass nearby: R5, 4, 7, 10, 14, and 50. The office is a 7-minute walk from the Waterfront Skytrain Station and an 8-minute walk from the Chinatown-Stadium Skytrain Station.

Bikes: There are bike racks in the area, please make sure to bring a good lock! You are also welcome to bring your bike inside if that feels more comfortable for you.

Parking: There is paid meter ($3/hour) street parking available on Hastings, Cordova, Pender, and Water St. Depending on the time of day, it may be challenging to find a spot. Here are some parking garages in the area:

311 W Hastings - $3/hour
150 W Pender - $6/hour
Free 2-hour parking at International Village Mall (6 minutes walk away)

Bikes: There are bike racks in the area, please make sure to bring a good lock! You are also welcome to bring your bike inside if that feels more comfortable for you.

Parking: There is paid meter ($1/hour) street parking available on Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebec, as well as on 8th and 10th. There is also free two-hour parking in the area. Depending on the time of day, it may be challenging to find a spot.

If you are driving, please try to give yourself plenty of time so that you can park your vehicle before the start time of our session.
