Making the decision to begin counselling is courageous; it takes vulnerability to step into the unknown. I want to provide you with some background about myself to help you make an informed, intentional decision about who you hope to work with.
I am a non-disabled, cisgender, queer, middle-class, neurospicy, white woman offering person-centred individual and relationship counselling services in Vancouver, BC on stolen xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) land. My dad (who passed away) ran a children’s theatre company, and my mom was an English professor. I see myself as a mixture of both of my parents: creative, artistic, warm and analytical. I came out as queer as a teenager in Calgary, AB. I worked in management consulting for several years and experienced severe burnout. Using somatic experiencing, trauma-informed therapy, and internal family systems (parts work), I found my way to healing and decided to pursue a path in counselling seeking to support others the way I had been supported.
I aim to support folks who are struggling with feeling stuck, helpless, powerless, overwhelmed, or disconnected by providing a deeply supportive, warm, empathic environment to process your experiences and deepen your understanding of yourself and your relationships. I value collaboration and believe you are the expert in your life and experiences.
My approach integrates trauma-informed, relational, somatic, and client-centered approaches that are grounded in intersectional, anti-oppressive feminism.
I am also eager to provide relational therapy from an emotion focused, relational perspective that is sex-positive, trauma-informed, kink-positive, sex-worker positive, and inclusive of LGBTQIA+ and poly relationships.
Personally, I enjoy films, music, being in the forest and ocean, reading, meditation, meaningful conversation, good food, and spending time with loved ones. I am a Capricorn Sun, Cancer moon and Cancer rising.
