Bio
Hello, my name is Sheryn (she/they)! I am a queer, neurodivergent, person of colour with mixed ancestry (Chinese/European). My intersecting identities inform and influence my counselling practice. I am a counselling intern with Collective Healing.
I operate in “Vancouver”, currently residing on the stolen lands of the səl̓ilwətaɁɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) ,šxʷməθkʷəy̓əmaɁɬ (Musqueam), and Skwxwú7mesh-ulh (Squamish) Nations.
I offer one-on-one in-person services for those in Vancouver, and virtual counselling sessions for those in BC. I work from a trauma-informed, person-centered lens, drawing from techniques such as acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), compassion focused therapy, and somatic approaches.
I believe in the healing power of human relationships. We are social creatures, and we all long for a sense of connection and belonging. I am passionate about helping those connect with their culture, explore diasporic/intersectional identities, build community, and form meaningful relationships.
When I'm not working, I’m spending time in community, working on one of my thousand hobbies/projects (thank you ADHD), cuddling with my weird looking cats, and generally being excited that I get to live this life.
Image Description: Sheryn is centered in the photo, smiling warmly with their teeth visible. They wear a flowing white blouse over a mauve undershirt, a pearl necklace, and have short dark hair with bangs. They stand in front of flowering and sunlit greenery.
