Bio

Hello! Thanks for landing here. In my role as a counsellor, my work has been described as collaborative, adaptive and attuned. As a lifelong learner, I enjoy being creative and adapting care alongside clients to co-discover what support can meet each client’s unique worldviews, needs, and goals. My work often draws on curiosity, emotional expression, and inviting self-compassion. I have a background in Biology, Women's and Gender Studies and Early Childhood Education.

Some themes that I often support with (not limited to):

  • neurodivergence

  • self-empowerment and compassion

  • navigating oppressive systems

  • boundaries and communication

  • relationships

  • identity and challenges growing up (for children, youth and all ages)

  • eco-anxiety and/or climate grief

  • trauma

At the heart of my work is a deep commitment to social justice. My practice is rooted in intersectional feminism, disability justice, anti-racism and anti-capitalism. I strive to create a space that is trauma-informed, neurodivergent affirming, anti-oppressive, and rooted in harm reduction. I draw from an integrative approach, combining modalities such as Feminist Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and more. I believe that every person is the expert of their own experience.

In a session, you can expect:

  • an open space for reflection and self-discovery,

  • a general check-in of how you are doing,

  • a curious inquiry around the systems you are navigating,

  • offerings of grounding skills

  • and opportunities for creative expression.

A Bit About Me

I identify as queer, cisgender (she/her), aceflux/grey ace. I am a white settler, neurodivergent, and am COVID-conscious. I’ve spent the past eight years on the traditional lands of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples and the W̱SÁNEĆ nations (colonially known as Victoria). I have worked for over 15 years with neurodivergent children and families as a nanny, respite worker and in group settings. When I’m not working, I love journaling by the ocean, making art, spending time in nature, playing with bubbles in my backyard with my neighbours and hanging out with my bunny Luna.

I appreciate you taking the time to read! It would be an honour to connect and learn about how I can best support you.

Image Description: Rebekah is centered in the photo, smiling with her teeth. She has short, dark hair. She is wearing a sleeveless black top and has a visible tattoo of two sea turtles on their upper left arm. The background is plain and neutral.
