Bio

Hello! I’m Rebekah, I’m queer, cisgender (she/her), aceflux/grey ace, white settler, neurodivergent, and COVID-conscious. In my role as a counsellor, my work has been described as collaborative, adaptive and attuned. These values are important to me, as I strive to continually learn in order to best support each client’s unique worldviews, needs, and goals. My work often draws on creativity, emotional expression, and storytelling.

Some themes that I often support with (not limited to):

  • working alongside those with OCD, ADHD, autism or other neurodivergences

  • self-empowerment

  • navigating oppressive systems

  • boundaries and communication

  • relationships

  • identity

  • eco-anxiety and/or climate grief

  • trauma

At the heart of my work is a deep commitment to social justice. My practice is rooted in intersectional feminism, disability justice, anti-racism and anti-capitalism. Therefore, I strive to create a space that is trauma-informed, neurodivergent affirming, anti-oppressive, and rooted in harm reduction. I draw from an integrative approach, combining modalities such as Narrative Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy. I believe that every person’s story is unique and therefore you are the expert of your own experience.

In a session, you can expect:

  • an open space for reflection and self-discovery,

  • a general check-in of how you are doing,

  • a curious inquiry around the systems you are navigating,

  • potential offerings of grounding skills

  • and opportunities for creative expression.

A Bit About Me
I’ve spent the past eight years on the traditional lands of the Lekwungen-speaking peoples and the W̱SÁNEĆ nations (colonially known as Victoria). Before entering counselling and while finishing my degree I have spent 15 years working with neurodivergent children and families, including my current work as a nanny to a crew of toddlers. I hold a BSc in Biology and I’m now in my final year of the counselling program at City University in Victoria.

When I’m not working, I love journaling by the ocean, making art, spending time in nature, and hanging out with my two bunnies, Luna and Olive.

I appreciate you taking the time to read! It would be an honour to connect and learn about how I can best support you. I’m here to walk alongside clients, adjusting my approach to help facilitate what feels most helpful and supportive to you!
