Aileen approaches therapy with a deep belief in everyone's inherent capacity to heal, grow, and thrive. Their practice draws from personal experiences as a queer, second-generation Taiwanese-Malaysian individual navigating mood disorders, neurodivergence, and addiction. Informed by their experience as a front-line worker in community mental health and substance use, it is Aileen's moral imperative to support marginalized groups disproportionately burdened by structural health inequities.
Aileen is committed to being an advocate and ally for you, whoever you are and wherever you may be in life. Aileen believes you know yourself best and they are dedicated to co-creating a non-judgmental space for you to openly express, explore, and define your identity. Aileen's approach is trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, anti-oppressive, and anti-capitalist, rooted in an abolitionist framework and a commitment to challenge systemic discrimination.
Aileen’s current and evolving expertise lies in supporting individuals navigating substance misuse, cultural identity exploration, and systemic, relational, and societal oppression. Aileen is a pre-licensed counsellor currently in the process of becoming a registered clinical counsellor.
