About Luisa

Beginning counselling or supervision is an act of courage and care. Whether you’re processing trauma, navigating life transitions, or seeking support as a practitioner, choosing to do this work reflects a deep commitment to healing, growth, and justice.

I offer trauma-informed counselling, art therapy, and clinical supervision in Vancouver (on the unceded lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm [Musqueam], sḵwx̱wú7mesh [Squamish], and sel̓íl̓witulh [Tsleil-Waututh] Nations). My approach is queer-affirming, anti-oppressive, intersectional, and relational, grounded in collaboration, curiosity, and respect for each person’s lived experience.

Many of the people I work with have felt disconnected, invalidated, or powerless after experiencing trauma, systemic oppression, or major life changes. Together, we create space to rebuild connection—with yourself, your body, your communities, and your sense of possibility. Our work centers your wisdom and self-determination while acknowledging the broader systems that shape your story.

As a clinical supervisor and consultant, I support counsellors, therapists, and helping professionals navigating ethical challenges, vicarious trauma, and the complexities of providing care within oppressive systems. My goal is to create reflective, growth-oriented supervision that balances accountability, relational safety, and mutual learning. Supervision with me offers space to explore your professional identity, deepen your understanding of systemic dynamics, and sustain yourself in the work.

My therapeutic approach integrates trauma-informed, relational, and client-centred practices within intersectional feminist and social justice frameworks. I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Sex Therapy. My work is deeply influenced by Black and Indigenous feminisms, queer theory, and critical race scholarship, and guided by values of reciprocity, care, and collective liberation.

Before opening my independent practice as a therapist and supervisor, I worked in community health and the anti-violence sector, supporting individuals and communities impacted by trauma and systemic oppression. I also have experience in post-secondary and community education, where I facilitated learning spaces on trauma, identity, and social change. These experiences continue to shape my curiosity, relational approach, and deep commitment to collective and community-based healing.

I am a non-disabled, cisgender, queer, working-turned-middle class, neurodivergent, white Latinx woman of mixed ancestry, an immigrant and an uninvited settler. I was born and raised in Medellín, Colombia, and spent many years living and learning in the United States. These intersecting identities and experiences inform my relational, reflective, and justice-oriented approach to therapy and supervision.

Outside of work, I find joy in making collages and paintings, hiking, playing volleyball, drinking coffee, and spending time with my community. I also love rewatching favorite movies and shows. I’m a Pisces and an ENFP—curious, intuitive, and always learning.
