Shana has a background working with children, youth, and young adults who face mental health challenges. Their work in the nonprofit and public health system includes working with those facing crises, suicidality, houselessness, substance use, sex work, employment or educational challenges, identity, trauma, and neurodivergence.

In their own time, you can find Shana dancing in the studio, bonding with animals, creating art, or in nature searching for some water. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family (including two black cats and a cornsnake!).

What to Expect

Guided by anti-oppression, intersectional feminism, disability justice, harm reduction, and anti-colonialism, Shana continues learning to dismantle and disrupt systems to better advocate for safe spaces both in and outside of the counselling room. They try to weave in pieces of DBT-informed skills building, parts work, and narrative therapy. You can expect Shana to be collaborative, compassionate, inviting, and nonjudgmental. She hopes to co-create safe spaces for exploration and processing, however that may look for you.

Image Description: Shana is wearing a purple collared long sleeve shirt with a pink rose and leaf print. She is wearing square glasses and is smiling in front of a river with rocks. Her hair, which is black, is styled half up and half down and the ends of her hair are blonde.
