Whatever brought you here, whether it’s feelings of shame, disconnection, being stuck, worries about your relationship, sexuality, identity or otherwise, Evelyn is so glad that you are here. In counselling with Evelyn, her goal is for the process to feel curious, hopeful, and playful.
Evelyn’s Taylor’s (they/she) approach is emotion-focused, somatic, parts and attachment-based. They firmly believe that all of us deserve access to our emotions, pleasure, and bodies in a way that feels connected, secure, and free from shame.
Evelyn’s practice is guided by three main principles:
Slow is Fast: Rather than being rushed to solutions, Ev takes time understanding all parts needed to cultivate transformation.
Somatic Embodiment: They integrate wisdom of the soma (body) in addition to more cognitive talk-based therapy, creating neural pathways and deeper healing.
Co-Create Safety: They believe that safety and trust in our chats is to be cultivated together. This means co-creating a space that feels affirming, safe, and nourishing for your relationship to yourself and others. Evelyn believes that you are the expert in your own life.
Evelyn supports both relationships and individuals. She specializes in the areas of relationships and sex therapy. Specific areas of support include: pleasure, intimacy & desire, boundaries, communication, identity, neurodiversity, chronic pain, grief, and trauma. They are passionate about providing affirming care for BDSM & kink, non-monogamy, and queer & trans folks.
In addition to counselling, they offer facilitated relationship check-ins (R.A.D.A.R.s). Check-ins are an important part of a relationship that fosters mutual appreciation and accountability. RADAR sessions are collaborative, structured check-ins for partners to communicate honestly and vulnerably. Evelyn will facilitate your check-in, supporting you to produce action-oriented plans and how to get there. RADARs are able to be booked as standalone sessions.
Evelyn is a queer, non-binary, poly, non-disabled, white settler on the unceded territories of the xwməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
Growing up as a weird, tomboy kid, Evelyn’s lived experiences and passion for exploring identity informs her practice.
Evelyn’s cup is filled by nature, great coffee, film, being a step-parent to their partner’s cat, and Mario Kart.
