Hollman (he/his) is a counselling practicum student currently completing his training. An immigrant from Colombia, born and raised in Bogota, who arrived in 'Canada' 20 years ago seeking safety, Hollman is a racialized cis-gendered, able-bodied, heterosexual man with lived experience navigating chronic illness, trauma, anxiety and depression. His diverse lived experience has crafted his trauma-informed, anti-racist and anti-oppressive stance in counselling. Hollman is a 2SLGBTQAI+ ally and supports trans and migrant communities.

Growing up in a traditional patriarchal Latino culture has informed his understanding of the impacts of oppression, as well as gender and political violence.

Hollman roots his practice in the importance of emotions; his gentle presence and client-centred stance enhance his holistic and anti-oppressive approach to counselling. Hollman is interested in working with clients navigating challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Drawing from evidence-based practices, he focuses on helping clients identify their strengths and build meaningful strategies to overcome obstacles—Hollman's personal and academic experience centres around the importance of cultural sensitivity, equality and justice.

He aims to create a safe, nonjudgmental, therapeutic space that nurtures resilience and empowerment. In this space, clients can explore their thoughts and emotions without fear of criticism, create goals that align with their values, and move toward a more meaningful life.

Outside his professional life, Hollman is a dedicated cyclist and an avid reader. He enjoys spending time with his cat, Lola, and his partner. In addition to his work, Hollman is a researcher who focuses on the importance of negative emotions and grassroots social movements in post-conflict societies. Hollman offers counselling in Spanish and English
