Bio

I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor who brings a unique blend of lived experience, cultural sensitivity, and academic knowledge to my practice. With a deep commitment to anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and anti-racist practices, I offer therapy that is grounded in understanding the impacts of gender, cultural, and political violence. My background in a traditional patriarchal Latino culture, combined with my work as a 2SLGBTQAI+ ally, informs my inclusive and empowering approach to therapy. I am passionate about creating a space where my clients can explore their emotions and experiences freely, without fear of judgment.

In addition to individual therapy, I specialize in couples counselling, with a particular focus on bi-racial and high-conflict couples. Drawing on evidence-based approaches, I help clients navigate life transitions, build resilience, and develop strategies for overcoming obstacles while fostering deeper connection and understanding within relationships.

My approach is collaborative, emotion-focused, and grounded in evidence-based practices like EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and DBT-informed skills. These approaches give us tools to rebuild trust, deepen connection, and support emotional safety—whether in your relationship or in your own healing.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, I work to ensure my clients feel heard, validated, and supported as they work toward their goals. Outside of therapy, I am an avid cyclist, an engaged reader, and a researcher focusing on negative emotions and grassroots social movements in post-conflict societies. I enjoy spending time with my cat, Lola, and my partner.
