Bio

Emily is a cisgender, non-disabled, biracial person of white and Chinese ancestry and the daughter of a first-generation Chinese immigrant. She lives and practices on the stolen, ancestral, and unceded lands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), səl̓ilwətaɁɬ təməxʷ (Tsleil-Waututh), S’ólh Téméxw (Stó:lō), and Skwxwú7mesh-ulh Temíx̱w (Squamish) peoples.

Emily has experience working with individuals who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, identity exploration/conflicts, low self-esteem, relationship/conflict patterns, and perfectionism tendencies. Her work focuses on fostering self-awareness of prevailing patterns and/or intersections that impact how her clients view themselves. Emily supports clients in moving towards a more compassionate connection to the self.

What you can expect working with Emily:

  • A multicultural, intersectional, anti-oppressive lens. Emily firmly believes the different systems and contexts we reside and exist in impact our well-being and sense of self.

  • A non-judgmental, compassionate approach. The therapeutic relationship is important to any type of counselling work. You can expect Emily to meet you where you are in your personal journey with respect, empathy, and warmth.

  • Autonomy and safety. Emily believes that counselling is a collaborative process and relationship. You, the client, are entitled to safe, ethical care that respects your consent and boundaries.

Emily is currently working with individual adults and teens.
