Bio
Hi, I’m Amina! I know how vulnerable it can feel to talk about sex, desire, or intimacy. Many of us carry shame, confusion, or fear around these parts of ourselves, even though they’re central to how we connect with others and ourselves. My role as a therapist is to create a space where you can feel safe, curious, and empowered to explore yourself without judgment.
I’m currently completing my certification in sex therapy through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). My work is grounded in trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and pleasure-positive frameworks, which means I honor both the tender and playful parts of your journey. Together, we can explore topics such as:
Desire discrepancy in relationships
Sexual shame, anxiety, low self-esteem and compulsive sexual behaviours
Kinks, fetishes, and alternative sexual practices
Challenges with arousal, orgasm, or painful sex (dyspareunia, vaginismus, endometriosis, PSOC and erectile difficulties)
Navigating relationship dynamics (non-monogamy, polyamory, or other relationship structures)
Exploring gender, sexual, or cultural identity
Healing from trauma that impacts intimacy or sexual expression
Repair, accountability, rekindling intimacy and connection
Communication barriers, ruptures and conflict
As a cisgender, queer, Romanian immigrant, I bring both lived and professional experience to my work. I know how complex it can feel to navigate identity, belonging, and systems of oppression, and I aim to create a therapeutic space where all of who you are is welcome. I have extensive experience working alongside the 2SLGBTQIA+, polyamorous, sex work, and neurodivergent communities.
In sessions, I draw from IFS/parts work, EFT, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, intersectional feminism, and sex-positive interventions, always through a holistic and collaborative lens. My goal is to help you build confidence, connection, and freedom in your sexual and relational life.
Outside of therapy, you can find me practicing shibari, climbing rocks, or cuddling with animals.
Image Description: Amina is sitting on a beige couch in a warmly lit room with pink walls and a green hanging plant in the background. She is wearing red-framed glasses, a red-and-white striped shirt, and black-and-white checkered pants. Her hands are gently clasped in her lap, and she is smiling softly at the camera.
