Bio

Hi, I’m Amina. I understand how vulnerable it can feel to talk about sex, desire, intimacy, fantasies, or the parts of ourselves we’ve been socialoized to hide. Many people carry shame, confusion, fear, or disconnection around sexuality and relationships, even though these experiences are deeply tied to how we connect with ourselves and others. My role as a therapist is to create a space where you can feel safe, supported, curious, and empowered to explore yourself without judgment.

I am currently completing my certification in sex therapy through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counsellors, and Therapists. My work is grounded in trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and pleasure-positive frameworks, meaning I honour both the tender and playful parts of healing, intimacy, and self-discovery.

Together, we may explore topics such as:

  • Desire discrepancy in relationships

  • Sexual shame, anxiety, and self-esteem

  • Compulsive sexual behaviours

  • Kinks, fetishes, alternative sexual practices, and diverse sexual identities

  • Challenges with arousal, orgasm, painful sex, erectile difficulties, vaginismus, dyspareunia, endometriosis, or PCOS

  • Navigating relationship dynamics, including non-monogamy, polyamory, and other relationship structures

  • Exploring gender, sexuality, cultural identity, and belonging

  • Healing from trauma, infidelity, or experiences that impact intimacy and sexual expression

  • Repair, accountability, rekindling intimacy, and rebuilding connection

  • Communication barriers, conflict, and relational ruptures

I recognize how complex it can be to navigate identity, relationships, and systems of oppression, and I strive to create a therapeutic space where all parts of who you are are welcome. I have extensive experience working alongside 2SLGBTQIA+, polyamorous, sex work, and neurodivergent communities.

In sessions, I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS)/parts work, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, intersectional feminism, and sex-positive interventions through a collaborative and holistic lens. My goal is to support you in building greater confidence, connection, authenticity, and freedom in your sexual and relational life.

Outside of therapy, you can usually find me practicing shibari, rock climbing, or cuddling with animals.

Image Description: Amina is sitting on a beige couch in a warmly lit room with pink walls and a green hanging plant in the background. She is wearing red-framed glasses, a red-and-white striped shirt, and black-and-white checkered pants. Her hands are gently clasped in her lap, and she is smiling softly at the camera.
