Hi there, I’m Austin (he/they), a multi-racial, non-binary, gay, and neurodivergent student psychotherapist who is passionate about creating safe and affirming spaces where people can explore and embrace their authentic selves. My practice is grounded in a sex-positive, anti-colonial, trans-feminist lens and a harm reductive approach, ensuring that I meet clients where they are and honor their unique journeys.
I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and will begin my practicum in January 2025. My focus is on gender, identity, and neurodivergent counselling with adolescents and adults. I integrate Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) into my work to help clients navigate trauma, uncover their strengths, and build meaningful connections.
I am deeply committed to belonging, equality, and justice. I have a particular passion for working with 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, neurodivergent clients, and those navigating complex identities or life transitions. I also support clients in healing from religious traumas, offering a compassionate space to process and rebuild trust in themselves and their beliefs. During my practicum, I will receive training in writing hormone readiness letters for trans and non-binary clients, which further reflects my dedication to gender-affirming care.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy collecting plants, rocks, and gems. I also love spending time in nature, baking, gaming, writing poetry, and sharing moments with my loved ones. These passions enrich my perspectives and help me connect more deeply with the world around me. I would be honoured to walk alongside you on your path to growth and healing!
